Dr. Van der Gaag joined the staff of HVH in 1998. She worked for 4 years in the pharmaceutical industry before deciding to return for her graduate degree. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Van der Gaag graduated Summa cum laude in May of 1994, and has been practicing in small animal medicine ever since.

Dr. Van der Gaag worked in central New Jersey after graduating. After five years, she was finally able to find her way back to Pennsylvania to practice in the area in which she lives. She now enjoys being able to have closer contact with the animals she cares for and their owners.

When Dr. Van der Gaag is not enjoying veterinary medicine, she spends her time with her husband, her two daughters, and her menagerie of pets; dogs, cats, fish, and various orphans that need some TLC on their way to finding good homes.
